Key Network set for a bright future

Members of Cornwall’s only professional conveyancing association discussed a vision of a bright future at their recent annual meeting.

In the same year that the network was recognised as Cornwall Law Society’s “law firm of the year”, developments at The Law Society have hung a question mark over the need for the network’s work to continue.

Network members discussed its role in Cornwall’s property legal industry in light of The Law Society’s introduction of the “Conveyancing Quality Scheme”, which sets out a protocol similar to that already successfully established by the Key Network.

However, members decided unanimously that the network remains a valuable entity – as a focal point for marketing local conveyancing services on behalf of members and promoting their services to local estate agents.

In addition, it was felt that having a local group of like-minded conveyancing lawyers is a very positive statement to the public and local estate agents.

Chairman of the meeting, Henry Preston, said: “The view of the committee and the general feeling among the members is that there is a bright future for the Key Network.

“We see that the Key Network can work well alongside the CQS and we look forward to seeing the fantastic work of network members, in creating purposeful and effective conveyancing documents, continuing to bear fruit for all involved in property purchases.”
